DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION HOSTS SEMINAR ON HOW TO BECOME A CHILDCARE PROVIDER
Dodge City KS – On Thursday November 12th Dodge City/Ford County Development Corporation partnered with the Dodge City Community College, Kansas Department of Health and Environment, Dodge City Area Chamber of Commerce, Child Care Aware, and Bright Beginnings to host a free class that provided basic information to individuals interested in opening a licenses daycare. Speakers addressed the state requirements, early childhood education degree programs and the many resources available for childcare providers. For more trainings, please visit www.raisingthewest.org/training-events.
Dodge City and surrounding counties have a shortage of licenses childcare providers. The lack of childcare creates a variety of struggles for many families. Not having access to reliable childcare means working fewer hours, taking a pay cut, or leaving the workforce altogether, meanwhile businesses are losing productivity and revenue.
